Total testosterone alone can mislead. Add your SHBG and albumin to see how much is actually free and usable.

Rough population bands, not a lab's reference range. Your lab report's range and your symptoms matter more than a percentile.

How it works

Free T is solved with the Vermeulen equation using binding constants of 3.6×10⁴ L/mol for albumin and 1×10⁹ L/mol for SHBG. Bioavailable T is free plus albumin-bound testosterone. Results track equilibrium-dialysis measurements closely for most men but can differ at very high or low SHBG.

Educational only, not a diagnosis. Testosterone varies by time of day and between draws; a morning fasting sample, repeated once, is the standard before any treatment decision.
